Halloween 6 Never Should Have Had Jamie Go Missing.
What always confused me about to the development process of Halloween 6 is all version had Jamie missing after Halloween 5. I always took the ending to be like ending of the original, where the evil is gone for now. Halloween 6 should have been about Jamie in college -- maybe living under a new identity (in the vein of H20 except this would have made way more sense.) She has a whole new group of friends -- who know nothing about her real past. Michael shows up and starts dispatching them as Loomis comes out of retirement. Tommy Doyle could have been the Loomis in training who helps Michael. The MAN IN BLACK should be a character in the movie, that's later revealed to be a patient at Smith's Grove who was locked with Michael, (a smart brilliant psychopath who felt a connection to Michael. He was one of the patients that escaped when Michael freed them in 1978. He was killing like the killer in Taking Lives until learning about Michael's escape in 1988. He then waited in 1989 for Michael to return so he could help him on his killing spree. This would have eliminated the incest angle, the cult, etc...
