Has anyone ever used AI for a fun "Reader and Commentator" idea before? Because this is my experience of it.

Basically, this whole fun "Reader and Commentator" idea of mine with Gemini was pretty much inspired by things like reaction videos on Youtube. And these are all of the steps to follow, in order for the idea to properly work.

  1. Input character names, personalities and appearances (your favorite characters are, of course, optional).

  2. Come up with a pre-read through and commentary, like the inputted characters reading and commentating your own fanfictions through either a laptop or a monitor.

  3. Have AI roleplay as those inputted characters.

  4. Input "Story/Text to React to:" before putting the current chapter/part in parenthesis. That step goes for each chapter/part that you convert to AI.

  5. (Optional) Have AI generate a post-commentary from the inputted characters.

From my experience of the fun "Reader and Commentator" idea, when I first started doing this, the only step I forgot to follow was input "Story/Text to React to:", and this ended up confusing Gemini into having the inputted characters enroll in my crossover fanfiction, instead of having the inputted characters only read through and commentate each chapter. So yeah, I've learned from my mistake. Optionally, at the end of each chapter, you can also input the names, personalities and appearances of characters that might be familiar to the readers and commentators. And at the start of that optional idea, you tell AI something like, "This is what (insert reader/commentator's name) knows about (insert familiar character's name)".

If I can use AI to find OOC (out-of-character) dialogues in my crossover fanfictions and provide in-character ones, why wouldn't I do that for every single chapter?

Okay, so, recently, I started using Gemini to detect out-of-character dialogues in my current crossover fanfiction (Platform Gamers VS Zombies, which you can find on Deviantart) and provide in-character ones, in order to easily fix the dialogues that I have written myself. That kind of AI usage is a viable solution, and starting from this point forward, I'll be doing that for every single chapter in Platform Gamers VS Zombies. For those who are new to my current crossover fanfiction, it's initially about 6 different platform gamers (iPad, Xbox One, iPhone, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 4 and PC) going on a zombie hunt in October 2015, with each day involving 3 hours of zombie scouting and eliminating inside a single store, for 5 days.

Am I better off as a fanfiction writer or a fanfiction producer? Because I just suck, in general, at writing in-character narratives and dialogues.

Yeah...personally, I'd rather produce my own crossover fanfiction plots and character contents to AI, and then have AI provide in-character long narratives and dialogues. This would work well because AI, depending on which source you're using, can stay consistent with the character contents, such as personalities. Now, in terms of narratives and dialogues, it's AI writing, as I would absolutely agree with. But, in terms of plot and character contents, it's human writing. And obviously, plots and character contents are required to determine the narratives and dialogues. So, technically, it's a viable way of creativity, given the workflow. And it's technically still worth reading, as long as you're continuing to produce your own original plots and character contents.

Does anyone else prefer human-AI writing collaborations over their own human writing alone? Because here are my reasons why.

Others may prefer my own writing alone. But then, you have OOC (out of character) narratives and dialogues to read. The fact that I would convert my own original ideas and concepts to AI, and then have AI generate long narratives and dialogues, is a viable way of creativity and clearly not the same as just telling AI things like, "Write a crossover fanfiction for me" or "Write a chapter of this crossover fanfiction".

But, anyway, there are 2 reasons why I would prefer human-AI writing collaborations over just my own writing.

  1. OOC (out of character) Narratives and Dialogues (If I were to write an entire crossover fanfiction of my own with just human writing alone, I would really likely end up writing out-of-character narratives and dialogues, because there are character personality contents so complicated for me to process, personally.)

  2. Story Length (With pure human writing alone, an entire composition book of my own would only consist of less amount of narratives and dialogues than AI can provide. If you provide your own original ideas/concepts to AI, and then have it provide long narratives and dialogues, then the amount of those 2 things is more than you can fit in a single composition book page.)

Those are my 2 reasons, as to why I would prefer human-AI writing collaborations over just my own writing, and one of the kinds of crossover fanfictions I enjoy writing includes Nintendo and Disney characters.
