HR refusing to pay my holidays

Hi, so I don't really understand how reddit works but I need some advice.

Long story but please bear with me.

Back at the end of February/early march, my manager told me I had 23 hours of holiday still to use before the end of june (holidays reset 1st July), so I said fine, put me down for holiday whenever is free because I didn't have any plans but didn't want to lose out on paid time off.

I had my week off 16th to 22nd may, rota had me showing as on holiday, all seemed well.

Then I received my payslip and noticed it was a fair bit lower than expected, even with a couple sick days.

I check the timesheet system and see that for my week off, no holidays were put down, so essentially I'm missing little over £300 from my wage.

I raise the issue with management and email HR asking for the missing pay to be put into rerun.

HR replied saying that I've actually over booked my holidays and am in a deficit of 1.5 days, before the holiday I didn't even ask for, and that they can't allow me to have an additional 4 days because I wouldn't earn it before the end of June.

I reply that I was told by my manager that I had 23 hours still to use (according to the system that shows holidays earned and timesheet tracking), and that I didnt even request the time off, it was just to use up the last few days of holiday.

They replied with the same message of they can't give me the additional holidays because I haven't earned them and won't be able to accrue them before end of June.

So essentially they're refusing to pay me, and I'm now down £300.

This is the 3rd month my pay has been short due to management not recording my shifts correctly too.

So I'm just asking if I have any legal standpoint on this, as I wouldn't have taken the holiday time off if I'd known I didn't actually have it earned.

Additional info- I'm on minimum wage and only on part time hours, I live alone, so losing £300 has essentially screwed me over for June. I won't be able to afford travel to work, let alone eat.

I'm not part of a union unfortunately.

Long story short- had a week off from work as holiday, HR say I don't have holidays left to take and are refusing to pay me for them.

Thank you for any advice.
