If You Didn't Hire A Caregiver- How Was Recovery?

Hello lads.

So any caretaking group near where I'm getting surgery are either live-in only, or housekeeping/emotional support care only. So all of the medical stuff will likely fall on my dad.

I offered to hire a live-in nurse or have someone come in every so often to give him a break. Not biting. It's either drop in medical care or nothing.

Work isn't an issue, he's got ample time off, and we've already decided to outsource cooking to doordash and cleaning to disposable mats and towels. I just worry because we're going to be away for a month and there won't be many opportunities for someone else to take over.

So anyone who was in a similar situation, how was it? Was your caretaker able to be your sole caretaker despite having no medical background or was it too much? What should he expect? Will he be busy all the time or will we just be chilling watching LOTR? Is there anything I can do to help him or any resources?
