Built a two-sided seasonal job marketplace from the van I live in — early revenue, looking for angels/advisors
Hey r/angelinvestors — founder here, posting because this community has been genuinely helpful to others I’ve seen share their journey.
I’m Dylan. I’ve spent the last decade chasing seasons — ski resorts, national parks, restaurants across the US. I lived the lifestyle, which is how I saw the gap: seasonal hiring is a $10B+ labor market with no modern infrastructure. CoolWorks has owned it for 25 years and hasn’t meaningfully updated their product. Employers are frustrated. Job seekers deserve better.
So I built VagaJobs.com — a two-sided seasonal job marketplace. Free for job seekers, subscription-based for employers. Think of it as the modern CoolWorks: job seekers can browse, get matched, build resumes, and generate cover letters in one place. Employers can post jobs AND search a candidate database to reach out directly — something the incumbents don’t offer.
We just launched V2 and have early paying employers on platform. The niche is real, the timing is right (outdoor/adventure tourism is booming post-COVID and hasn’t slowed), and I’m running lean from a van with a small remote team.
I’m looking for:
• Angel investors who understand niche marketplaces or the outdoor/hospitality space
• Advisors with marketplace or B2B SaaS scaling experience
• Intros to anyone building in the future-of-work or gig economy space
