I need book suggestions
Hi, new reader here.
I'm (19m) looking forward to reading as much books from this year forward!
Letting you know about the books I have read so far might help so here's a list that also tells you what I liked about them (in order):
Homer's Odyssey: I'm a big fan of EPIC: The Musical, so I thought I'd read the source material to see how accurate it is. Turns out I like the book better than the musical! I liked the Gods and Goddesses in the book especially.
Gregory Maguire's Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch I also loved Wicked: The Musical, but what I liked about this is the somehow humor in it?? And the diverse cast that it has. I especially loved the chapters in Sarima's castle.
Stephen King's IT I am just in love with the IT franchise so I had to read this. IT turns out to be my favorite read of all time. I loved the cast especially, they have a special place in my heart.
Gail Carson Levine's Ella Enchanted This I just found on a random bookstore, I bought it, read it overnight, and pretty much enjoyed the pacing.
Right now, I am reading Stephen King's The Shining and I have a few books on my shelf including Project Hail Mary and some random finds on a bookstore.
Overall though, I'd love to explore more books so if you've read anything you think would fit my taste, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you!
TL;DR: I like whimsy, horror, great casts, and familiarity (though I'm open to suggestions)
