




Tabletop Grim Plexus (MWO) Map
I wanted to share the 3D map I've been putting together for the past month or so. It's basically complete, with some minor updates that I may address in the future. I tried to recreate the Grim Plexus map from MWO, however I ended up scaling the map to about 50m per hex, which makes some of the sections awkward as there's only 1 hex of space to navigate through. My intention was to play this with Alpha Strike, however I can add level 0 hexes in the future pretty easily if needed, as there really isn't too many.
I started creating this by throwing a hex tile overlay over the Grim Plexus map. I then used FreeCad 1.0 to make a tile and mated them together based on the chunks I mapped out. This was fairly tedious and I told my buddy what I was working on. He proceeded to make a website that would allow me to create my hex tile chunks much more easily and would generate the .stl files for me. I ended up using that for about 80% of the hex chunk generation. His site is free to use (with two modest paid tiers for additional access). I hope it's not against the rules to share, as I think it is very cool and would be appreciated by the community.
