Maintainence and protection?
Earlier this year I got a 2024 hybrid FWD. It's my first new-new car and I want to keep it in good condition. It currently has 26k miles and is quickly eclipsing 30k. I'm wondering about the maintenance schedule and what I should do to protect the truck in general. I drive about 40k miles per year across all my vehicles and this is going to become the daily in a few months.
I plan to change the oil every 5-6k miles and have already had waxoyl sprayed on the undercarriage, tailgate, door shells, rockers, and hood. I drive 50-50 highway and heavy traffic, and in the MN salt.
I'm specifically wondering what people do for their own maintenance, oil change intervals, transmission fluid changes or flushes, spark plugs, and coolant flushes. The dealer said to have the transmission fluid changed every 30k miles, on my other vehicles I don't touch that until 100k and haven't had issues (70k miles so far past the tranny flush on a chev). I've heard the axles can't handle the electric motor torque, and that the actual engine has too much torque for the transmission; I'm wondering if following the 30k maintenance schedule would prolong its life, and at what point it should be fully flushed rather than a drain and fill?
Also, how much would a wrap around brush guard affect my gas mileage?
I've attached a picture of my son purely for post attention. It is VA paint and I resprayed a cactus grey matchbox.
