Need advice what company and what payment processor to choose
Hey everyone,
I’m currently researching the best setup for launching an online platform/social network focused mostly on the ex-Yugoslavian region (Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro, etc.) plus diaspora users worldwide.
I don’t want to reveal the full concept yet, but the platform would include:
- user profiles
- content creators
- creator monetization
- subscription/membership model
- one-time payments
- recurring subscriptions
- payouts/revenue share for creators
So basically, a mix between a community platform and a creator economy business.
Right now I’m trying to figure out:
The best country/company structure for this
The simplest and cheapest setup to start with
A payment processor that works well with Balkan/ex-Yu users
Possible fiat-to-crypto or card-to-crypto solutions
How to minimize bureaucracy and unnecessary complications while keeping everything legal and scalable
Important details:
- Main audience will be ex-Yu users + diaspora
- I have a Serbian passport, but also a passport from an EEA country
- The platform itself would operate globally online
I’d really appreciate advice regarding:
- US LLC vs UK LTD vs Estonia vs Dubai vs something else
- Which payment processors work best today for subscriptions + creator payouts?
- Any experience with Stripe Atlas, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Coinbase Commerce, CoinPayments, NOWPayments, etc.?
- Is there a reliable setup where users can pay with cards but funds are converted into crypto?
- How difficult are banks/payment processors these days with creator/subscription/community platforms?
I’m specifically looking for real-world experiences from people who already built SaaS, marketplaces, creator economy businesses, subscription platforms, or online communities.
My priorities are:
- fast launch
- low bureaucracy
- low operational costs
- simple tax/payment setup
- scalability later
If you were starting this type of business today from scratch - how would you structure it?
Thanks in advance 🤗
