Investment to Cash Ratio Advice Needed
Hi! 31M, married with 1 kid.
Currently holding around $180k (in Savings Accounts) in cash and about $110k invested across ETFs, tech stocks, and precious metals.
I'm considering deploying more of the cash into investments, but I'm struggling to determine how much cash I should keep on hand versus invest. My concern is that many asset classes seem to be trading near all-time highs right now.
For those in a similar stage of life (young family, mortgage, etc.), how do you decide:
- How much cash to keep as an emergency fund or buffer?
- What percentage of your portfolio stays in cash?
- Where would you deploy new capital today given current market valuations?
Interested to hear how others are approaching this.
