Blindness after surgery

Hello all, my sister (51F) was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and had emergency surgery about two weeks later. Because the location of her tumor is in a part of the brain that controls vision, she is basically blind now, along with some short term memory issues. She describes the blindness as kind of patchwork and psychedelic in nature. This is so hard to not only cope with the diagnosis, but to also cope with her new blindness. Does anyone else have experience with this?
