Any way to save these hydrangeas?
Chicago, IL, zone 6a. For context, I purchased a couple hydrangeas from Home Depot in mid-May (alongside a few others we got from other nurseries), but they have admittedly been struggling. Last night, I noticed some wilting so I went ahead and watered/fertilized (deep watering with an acidic fertilizer) but the wilting hasn’t really improved almost 24 hours later. Note, I did let these go a few days without water as they were showing signs of overwatering (and temperatures have not been super high), but I suspect that may not be the issue here.
All that’s to say, any suggestions on what I can do to bring them back to life? For what it’s worth, the other hydrangeas we have have been doing great. I’m wondering if we unknowingly got a florist hydrangea, even though it was Home Depot.
I am a first year gardener, so any tips and tricks are much appreciated!
