Underground albums with Japanese labels.

I’ve got a question, every time I look up or come across photos of physical copies of underground nu-metal albums, they often have Japanese text on them, even when the band isn’t from Japan. I know Japan has its own nu-metal scene, but most of those bands never really made it out of the underground. So I’m wondering, why are there so many physical editions of underground nu-metal albums with Japanese labeling? Was nu-metal actually really big in Japan, or is something else going on?

How do you find underground bands or albums, like, so underground they’re not even on Internet Archive, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or re uploads on YouTube? And if they are on those sites, the songs are either scattered around or in really bad quality. The thing is, I’m looking for two specific albums, but I’ve only found random tracks in low quality on the usual sites.

Is it just as bad as the previous one, is it better, or is it even worse?

Some of the ones I have here are due to regional restrictions xd.

This EP by this band called "Penguins with Shotguns" appeared on YouTube, and it has a sound similar to several nu metal bands, but I'm not sure if it falls into the genre.

I’m asking because I’ve recently become fascinated with darker music, like grunge. Since nu metal has always been my favorite genre, I was wondering which band you consider the darkest.

I really wonder why several post-grunge bands are categorized as nu metal and vice versa, when in theory they are two completely different genres. Does anyone know why this happened?
