mATX mobo, ATX PSU and a 290mm 9070 XT into a 15L case
Finally finished my Newway NC1 build / DIY steam machine ! The hardest part was just fitting the gpu in, every millimeter counts, and I had to squeeze all cables on the bottom right.
Full build specs:
● CPU: Ryzen 5 9600X
● Motherboard: MSI B850M Mortar Wifi (mATX)
● RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 CL30 Patriot Viper
● GPU: ASRock 9070 XT Challenger
● SSD: 4TB Lexar NM790
● Cooler: Thermalright AXP90-X47
● PSU: Gigabyte GP-UD850GM (ATX)
● Case: Newway NC1
● Fans: Mostly Noctua Redux, one Noctua Industrial (bottom left) and the stock fan on the back
I went with the MSI B850M Mortar because it looks cool as hell. The full-size ATX PSU was a headache since it forced all cables to pack in the tiny bottom-right space, but with a lot of pushing and folding, it worked out. The USB3 connector was a pain too, it doesn’t bend very much and takes a lot of space where the bottom fans and additional PCIe power connector should be.
The AXP90-X47 cooler scared me a bit when it bent the motherboard (because it uses nuts instead of spring screws), but it’s probably fine.
It took some patience and sweat and I’m really happy with how it all came together in the end.
Thanks to u/GeiharVonArpen for his similar build post, I based my airflow on his.
