My lease ends midway thru May (5/19) and per the lease we pay for the entire month. My landlord sent out a notice stating that per the lease, we must continue to pay for electricity through May until June 1st. This was not actually outlined in the lease, so I reached out saying so. My landlord then replied acknowledging that the info was not in the lease, like I said. They continued on to say that I might still want to leave on until 6/1 in case there is something that they need to clean or fix because it’s something that was my responsibility, the $35 turn on fee would be my responsibility.

Is this legal? We are already paying for the remainder of the month that we aren’t living there! This seems crazy.
