please help me find this comic/graphic novel !!!
Looking for a graphic novel series (physical, multiple volumes, pre-2016, realistic Western art style — not manga). American male protagonist, late 20s/30s, brown hair. Lives alone in an apartment, has a sister who occasionally phones to check on him. In the real world he's in some kind of danger — there's a scene where he's being chased and has to use a gun.
When he sleeps, he wakes up in a fantasy world — starting in a peaceful open field (possibly with a rabbit nearby). In that world he's a warrior in green medieval-style clothing carrying a long sword. The world has elves and monsters. The time ratio is roughly 1 hour of sleep = 1 day in the fantasy world.
The villain/evil group in the fantasy world is harvesting something. His real-world situation is connected to why he keeps being pulled back. The protagonist's name might be Michael or Josh. The cover showed him in the green medieval clothes holding the long sword.
