For anyone hand-wringing about the accents and diction in The Odyssey, I have one word for you: Ama-fucking-deus

In the hands of a competent director, the pop-ification of dusty source material can be stunning. While Amadeus was based off of a killer 70s play, the American accents and modern dialogue flourishes were largely a choice of the film. (And even then, the movie was still labeled low-brow in its time relative to other historical films. sigh)

Sit back, relax, and let a seasoned pro do his thing.
