Angry about the taste of unisom-- and a solution for those who are suffering
Forgive my rant, but WHO DECIDED that it was acceptable for unisom to be an uncoated pill?! The second it hits my tongue I feel so sick and it's a miracle I haven't thrown up from it. I would pay 5x more for a version that tasted good. My idea is coat it in 3-4 layers of nerds candy coating, like a hard candy coating that won't come off immediately but will dissolve rapidly in the stomach.
Putting the water in your mouth then swallowing the pill works like 50% of the time, but the moment it touches my tongue I die a little.
I just ordered gelatin capsules online as a temporary measure, and I'm hopeful that will work as I have had no problems with other capsules. This is one case though, where I would happily pay the woman tax and be upcharged if didn't taste like actual poison.
ETA: Unisom has helped my nausea significantly, the one night I skipped it was followed by the first day I actually got sick and couldn't hold down food. If you haven't used it yet, it works really well! Still feel nausea but it's somewhat manageable.
