iPad Air M4 Screen Freeze & Recovery Mode Scare – Need Advice!
Hey everyone, I had a really strange experience with my new iPad Air M4 and wanted to see if anyone else is facing this. I was multitasking with WhatsApp and two other apps when the screen suddenly froze completely. The weird part was that the WiFi and status bars were still active, but the apps were totally unresponsive. I attempted a force restart, which triggered a black screen directing me to support.apple.com/ipad/restore. After another restart attempt, it finally booted back to the home screen and seems to be working fine now. I’ve already verified that I’m running iPadOS 26.5, so it’s fully updated. Has anyone else encountered this sudden jump into recovery mode? Should I be worried about a hardware defect and take it to the Apple Store, or does this sound like a one-off software glitch?
