Would anyone be open to political discussion via pen pal (mail or email)?
In the current US politic climate I am most in tune with far left regarding policy.
That being said, I philosophically have always been most aligned with libertarianism. I have both friends and family who are classically conservative and despite disagreeing on policy we have always been able to listen to each other respectfully.
The divide feels as if it is moving further. Our ability to listen, speak openly, admit our faults/fallacies is diminishing. I know I’m a part of the problem as well.
I am very interested in having a conservative pen pal. I think it would be a small way to connect, bridge the gap. Letter writing feels like a good way to do this, a good way to humanize each other and pause and think before speaking. I would really love to hear about what issues/fears/priorities you have that shape your world view and political leanings.
Would anyone out there be interested in this?
