On the Football Weekly podcast today Lucy Ward was saying she thinks Leeds will struggle next season* as the 3-5-2 will be found out, in the same way Sheff Utd’s overlapping centre backs were countered in their second season a few years back. Not sure I agree as long as we upgrade players in a number of positions and show further tactical fluidity. I think we’ve seen enough of Farke’s new-found flexibility to hope he has other, varied plans up his sleeve. Still, it's something to think about as the prevailing view is that first season survival will be followed by us kicking on and properly establishing ourselves
Also on the subject of Lucy Ward, I don’t see why she’s regarded as someone well disposed towards us. Every time I hear her on Football Weekly and asked about Leeds she’s reserved about us at best. That isn’t a criticism of her cos she’s a pretty decent pundit but rather of the idea that she’s a Leeds supporter. I think her experiences under Cellino and the court case have taken away any love she had for us. Can’t say I blame her but people shouldn’t see her as a fan of ours in the media.
