For context, I’m (27F) in a split role that is essentially 80% Salesforce system administration at my org and 20% supporting our office Operations Officer (in scheduling, building agendas, etc).

I’ve been at my workplace for 3 years, and in the last year and a half have been asked to do tasks like cover for our receptionist or clean up the kitchen every few weeks when there is lunch catered. These tasks are not in my job description, and feel like a demotion.

When I’ve brought this up, I’ve been told that it appears I think I’m too good to help in these areas or that I’m asking to do less work for the same pay (even though these tasks were not asked of me earlier in my role).

I’m feeling very stuck. Frankly, I’ve only seen young women in my office be asked to do these things, but I don’t think pointing that out to leadership would be productive, unless I want to sign myself up for termination lol
