How are people making AI coding work for them?
I'm in my third year as a developer, before that I spent 5 years doing a Computer Science and Data Science degree for context.
Before I started using AI in console, I felt like I was constantly learning, picking up new concepts, actually getting better at writing code. Now I feel like I only argue with it, it adds unnecessary stuff and takes routes that seem off, and since I'm still learning I can't always direct it to the best solution either. I still review and test everything it outputs, but something about the process has slowed me down drastically.
I liked coding "manually", it had a good reward factor for me, but this is still a career and not my entire life. I'm a bit sad that it's taken a different turn but I suspect this is the new norm regardless, and I don't want to fall behind.
I'd love to hear some suggestions or workflows that work for people.
