Absolute beginner in STR

I am quite familiar with the Orlando area, relatively local, and was hoping it would be a good STR investment. Thousands of others already have the same idea.. I see that it’s a very saturated market.

I am looking to try and take over an operating entity not start one from scratch.

Are there still solid investments to be had here or is it too late for a reasonable entry? Should I be looking elsewhere?

I appreciate any opinions, especially from anyone currently operating here.
