Mystery Ranch ruck for the Q?

Ive got a MR Blackjack 80 that has served me well in my current unit. Looking at my upcoming time in the Q, I'm not sure if that frame will hold up to the weight. Has anyone had issues with MR MLF frames?

My second concern is space. Is that 80 Liter pack size enough for the winter packing list or the Robin Sage infil? If no, then what size requirements would be fitting for the course?

My large molle ruck did the job at selection, but I've been spoiled with a good ruck and am willing to trade in the MR for another quality ruck if needed

Group of choice

For those who may not know, in-service candidates with certain qualifications (Ranger, JM, etc.) can now select their preferred group and/or MOS after being selected, assuming they successfully complete the Q Course.

My question is for those currently serving in group or who have since retired: based on your experience, what would you say to someone trying to choose between groups?

Right now, I’m torn between 7th and 10th. From what I remember in the brief, I can change my decision up until MOS phase. My wife and I have been looking at a million different factors, but I’m hoping to get some input from people who have actually spent time at those duty stations.

If you’ve been in either group, what were the biggest pros and cons? If you had to do it all over again which group would you choose and why?

I’ll be gone a lot, so in the end the decision on where to live will largely fall to my wife. Any input from spouses who’ve experienced life at either location would be especially appreciated.
