Hey everyone, my partner and I submitted our Common-Law Outland PR application on April 30, 2026, at exactly 5:00 AM PT (8:00 AM ET).
Because we submitted so early, the portal was still showing the "old" fee of $1,290 (biometric included), so that's what we paid. I later realized the new fees ($1,345) were set to take effect that morning.
Two questions:
Does anyone know the exact minute the IRCC system switched over? If I submitted at 8:00 AM ET, am I legally under the "old" fee rules?
For those who have been through fee hikes before: if I'm underpaid by $55, will IRCC send a request for the top-up, or will they just return the whole package as incomplete in 2 months?
I'm mostly worried because my PGWP expires in August, and if the file is returned in July, I won't have time to refile and get an AOR before my permit runs out. Thanks!
