Recently bought a XT30 iii with the kit lens (13-30mm).

I'm trying to use some film recipes and want to make sure I am doing it correctly. And the photos I am getting are clearly not what I was expecting.

So, I set up the recipe as advised (from settings), and I get that I am meant to use the 'Q' button for the custom recipe to work. But have the following questions:

1. What do I do with the film sim dial when choosing the custom recipe? Do I need to rotate it to the option the recipe is based on?
2. Some options are greyed out when I try to set up the recipe (even from the start). What am I doing wrong?
3. Any way to set up ISO to be auto? Or that's only possible is full auto mode?
4. If I use 'Auto' mode - does the recipe work? or 'Auto' just takes over everything?
5. I have been using 's' for focus but the sharpness does not seem that good. Coming out rather blurry at times.

Sorry for the basic questions. These pictures are not quite straight out of camera - used 'XApp' to bring them to phone and played with it a little bit. The image quality is 'fine' as I needed to get them to display on the phone which reduces the quality.

Any advise would be much appreciated. TIA
