First off all, I'm not new to motorsports. I grew up watching the AMA Motocross and Supercross, Formula 1, MotoGP and the like and have always been a fan of everything motor. As the years have gone on I've seen the soul sucked out of the racing (Primarily F1) and because of that (and SVG) I have been watching the cup series this year
Being from Australia NASCAR was never really ever shown in any respect on television or online over here and so I don't really know the history and it begs the question. What do you think of the current state of the series? I know no different from the previous years but I think the racing is good, they race hard and don't get penalized for it. I like the stage format as it gives it more strategy thought the race and seems to give guys a way to score more points if they are mid pack guys. The 7th gen cars seems okay to me but don't really know the pros and cons of them.
I'm curious to hear from you all that have been watching for years or decades and also what you think the golden era of NASCAR is?
