Hello!
I traveled to Buenos Aires for a week in 2017 when I was 23 and absolutely loved it. I had not traveled much outside of the US and I immediately fell in love with the city. It was so cosmopolitan and beautiful. There were really cool bars and cafes and neighborhoods. The food was incredible. The people were incredibly well dressed.
I got married in 2022. My wife has a great job that pays well and allows us to travel a lot. Neither of us had been to Europe prior to our marriage and we’ve since traveled to Europe 5 times together. We love major cities. In Europe, Paris and Rome were our favorites (original I know). I’ve been trying to convince my wife to travel to South America and she’s finally agreed to do it in November just before Thanksgiving in the US.
My question is: which city would you recommend for us? We only have 5 days (including day we land). I’m not interested in major travel during those 5 days (no long bus rides or other plane rides). I initially thought about going back to BA but I’ve always been interested in Santiago and maybe checking out Valparaiso as well. My wife and I favor nice, walkable cities. We love cafe culture. In short, which city would you recommend that’s most like Rome or Paris (I feel like that’s BA).
