Really need to talk about Do Son
So Do Son, we all know this tuberose masterpiece from Diptyque. To me, it always smelled like the jasmine trees back in my home country: the most realistic, feminine white floral jasmine, slightly woody, light, green, airy... It genuinely reminded me of walking past blooming flowers in the Mediterranean.
After avoiding buying it for 5 years because it felt too pretty, too gentle, too white-floral-jasmine, I finally purchased it for my collection.
At first, it’s all bright white flowers, as I pictured. but now I’m honestly considering selling it.
I didn’t realize how animalic it was.
To me it smells like straight civet! My forearm literally smells like an animal reproductive gland, or should I say animal poop. Imagine the civet/hyrax facets from Zoologist, but 100 times filthier.
The weird thing is, I can barely find anyone describing it this way.
Has anyone else experienced this with Do Son?
