Healing a puppies fractured femur
My pup louis a 4 month old male was playing in the creek, climbed up the side and got his leg stuck in between the wall and a root then proceeded to fall and fracture his leg. I obviously was very close and was already on my way to catch him, but was only able to grab him after the damage was done. We’ve already been to an emergency hospital and his primary care vet, we’ve got him on some medication, gotten x-rays done at the emergency vet, and are getting him the earliest available appointment for surgery to fix his femur. Doctors think he will make a full recovery, and will definitely not be getting an amputation.
All that being said i was wondering if anyone had advice on his recovery. what worked best your for dogs or something i can do to speed along his recovery, make it smoother, heal better maybe? I also wonder if anyone has used red light therapy and has any recommendations, or if you know if pumpkin pet insurance would cover it? Either at a vet clinic or buying the device myself.
