Hello all. I had a recent interaction with a newly made brother. I signed his application and vouched and I've known him since we were both about 16, we are both 33 now. We have always been good friends even when we didn't talk much and he got a lot of his advice about the craft from me when he was getting interested (other friends of his were brothers i know who he talked to as well so im not taking credit for him joining or anything). I recently had a conversation with him ON THE LEVEL (I explicitly stated this was on the level and I want this staying between us because it was very personal). I then find out that he spoke to the person I was talking about in 'parables' ashe called them, and he essentially told that person everything i told them without directly saying my name. The person knew who he was talking about and now my relationship with them has been alienated. I don't want to cause a problem at the lodge, but my trust feels completely broken, not just as brothers but as a friend. Should I demit or bring it up with him directly to solve it? I know this seems like a no brainer but it has really affected my mental health as I have a lot of other things stressing me out in life rn (mostly financial but there are others). Do I demit or try to solve it with him without the lodge intervening?
