Hi everyone! Need advice, as I am a first time cat parent!
So here's my situation: I live in the Philippines and I am working a regular 8AM to 5PM job. I have 2 adult dogs (4 year old and 13 year old) that are used to being home alone. A few days ago, we rescued a 3 month old kitten from the streets. He's healthy, active, and playful. I put him up in my bedroom with consistent water and food, a litterbox, and around 3 toys to keep him occupied. I put him in there first so he can have his own space before I gradually introduce him to my dogs. I usually play with him around 15-30 min in the morning and in the evening.
My first question: I am worried though that because I am working a fulltime job, he would be bored and lonely in the room. Any advice on how to make sure he still gets his enrichment?
My second question: Any advice on how to make my dogs and cat get along? So far, I've given them supervised interaction wherein my cat is on his crate and my dogs are in the area. I rewarded my dogs when they would stop staring at the cat and would exhibit a relaxed stance. I've also swapped their beddings so they would be familiar with each other's scents. What else could be done?
Appreciate any and all advice!
