Does the price look right?

Hi,
I recently bought a 24x30 print of the Artemis II launch (lookup « rise of humanity » if curious). Obviously, I want to frame it, so I went to a local framer to get a quote. What he proposed to me was a minimalistic black aluminum frame (250 CAD) with an acid-free filler board (80 CAD). Then, for the glass, there were two options : ArtGlass AR70 (350 CAD) or just a regular glass (90 CAD). It honestly is a bit more expensive than what I thought, but I respect that framing is an artform and that it requires a lot of manual labor. I just wanted to make sure the prices looked right before I commit to this expense.

I also wanted your advice on the glass. Do you feel like the price jump is worth it? There are worlds of difference between regular and anti-reflective glass, but just the glass would cost about the same as the print, so idk.

Thank you!

There’s almost no downside. You can basically get a great/okay-ish view from anywhere and up to 65k person can be there. Security risks will be mitigated since havoc will be limited to the island. Also, island entry can be much more easily controlled, so security checkpoints could be deployed. The only downside I see is that, once the game is over, wait time for the metro will be horrendous, but it’s not that bad.

I know they can’t plan it this year because it’s too short of a notice, but for next year it would be insane.
