Hello,
I am an incoming law student and am looking into housing and food options. I am most likely going to live within a few blocks of University City.
I've seen that there are some dining options that grad students are allowed to purchase, with varying prices and plans that balance between meal swipes and dining dollars. I can cook and am comfortable eating out but was wondering if supplementing my typical eating habits with a meal plan would make sense financially and for convenience. If anybody has some good insight, I have a few questions that might influence my decision on whether or not to purchase a plan, and which one.
What is more valuable: dining dollars or meal swipes?
How is the food directly surrounding Penn (20-minute walking distance)? Is it affordable? Cheaper or more expensive than Penn affiliated food options?
If anybody is a law student, is it easy to score free lunches/dinners from student orgs or other campus events?
Thank you to anyone who can provide some info. I greatly appreciate it!
