Scotts toothpick thing?

Can someone please explain the toothpick thing? I get it if you are a meat eater at a steakhouse and the waiter brings you toothpicks to pick the food out of your teeth; but what is up with Scott and his contestant need of always having a toothpick in his mouth? It’s like it has become his signature look. In the breakdown and final chorus for the new song we might as well be strangers, in the video when it flashes to Scott it’s a closeup of him putting his signature toothpick in his mouth. I just don’t get the need for someone to always be sucking on a toothpick?? The only thing I can possibly reason as to why is perhaps many years ago he quit smoking cigarettes and whenever he would get the urge to smoke he would suck on toothpicks? It’s just kind of odd and in a way a little gross and weird. Plus the fact that he probably always has to make sure he leaves the house with a box of toothpicks. I know they make flavored dental ones, maybe he’s just into oral hygiene? He’s a public figure in a very famous band and it just looks odd and out of place that he’s always twirling a toothpick around in his mouth.

Brian’s best solo album

IMO I think that Brian’s most put together and best solo album has to be That Lucky Old Sun. Most of his other solo albums tend to be a mix between a few recent Ideas and a few older demos revisited and reworked. That Lucky Old Sun to me feels like it was primarily 100% brand new material. It also flows together really well in an almost Smile like modular way, except the songs are a bit more accessible and not as complex as the songs from Smile. It really seemed like Scott Bennett really knew how to bring the best out of Brian. It’s really too bad the circumstances that happened which caused Scott’s departure from the group. I can’t help but wonder how Brian’s solo career would have turned out if those circumstances didn’t happened and he continued to work on another album or two with Scott. Because most of his work after that Lucky old sun which would be The Beach boys 50th album and No Pierre pressure were both Joe Thomas collaborations. I had heard that when Brian moved next door to Joe in the late 90’s to start working on his Imagination album, he and Joe recorded around 60 demos. When the Beach boys decided to make their 50th anniversary album Brian didn’t really have anything new to offer and so I heard that a decision was made to work with Joe again to get access to all of those Imagination era demos. His final solo album No pier pressure also featured some songs that were originally demoed from the imagination era.
