Hello Everyone,

I graduated in May of 2025 with my Master’s in Bioinformatics. During my final year of school I had a six month internship with a Lab professor doing research on public health data looking at the expression of proteins before and three months after BCG vaccination. Besides that I am a new graduate. Since graduation I have been applying for jobs but have had no success. I have not been able to get an interview yet which has been very disheartening. Obviously the job market has been focused on mid to senior level positions, but what am I supposed to do as someone who simply does not have that experience yet? This has made me ask myself where and what I should be looking for in the first place. Is there a type of job that I should be focusing on? I myself am not sure exactly where I could go from here.

In terms of my interests I enjoyed learning about epidemiology and infectious disease transmission and would love to do some sort of data analysis in that, but I wanted to know what types of jobs I should be trying to get with my background. I am willing to work in anything related to Biology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or other similar fields. Additionally, what can I be doing to continue learning and improving my skills? Currently, I have a side gig tutoring but want to do more to focus on my long term career goals. I have gotten advice from my family and friends but none of them are in Bioinformatics/Biotech/Biology, so I wanted to hear from someone who knows more about the industry.

I have attached my blind resume for further context/explanation of what I know. Any comments or recommendations are greatly appreciated as I am feeling very lost on how to keep trying. Thank you in advance for the advice! First time posting, let me know if I missed anything important.
