I (28F) left my “good enough” job about a month ago for one that was falsely advertised.

While i was looking to leave the previous job, a company that i regularly volunteer with had a job posting for seemingly my dream position. I reached out right away asking the hiring manager (person i know well) if my experience would fit the role. They responded yes and instructed me to send over my resume. About 3 weeks went by and they reached out to schedule an interview. At that time, the falsely advertised job had already reached out to be with an offer letter in which i accepted, obviously not knowing my fate.

After realizing the job wasnt the right fit (3 days in) i reached out to the hiring manager of the company i was interested in working for. She happily scheduled the interview even though my response was late.

Long story short, i bombed the interview yesterday. I went in so excited and honestly looking forward to having a chat with them. After saying a quick hello, the hiring manager (my friend whom ive worked with closely) said “okay i know we are all friends here but lets act like we know nothing”. She then coldly introduced herself and explained things that she knows i already am fully aware of at the company since its my direct volunteer effort. The other interviewer (also a friend) did the same thing and was also cold. I have no idea why but the demeanor threw me off so badly. I never bomb and am very well at articulating. My volunteer role with them is high stakes and they trust me with all duties there. I sent a thank you and was able to clear up broadly to an answer that was asked of me.

What should i expect? Has this happened to anyone?
