My studio has community bats that are wrapped so I’d like to get my own but not sure what’s worth investing in. I see a lot of people use plastic bats but I’m hearing a lot of good things about medex bats and hydro bats. I throw a lot of bowls and cups but i eventually want to make plates. A lot of people have been telling me that they get cracks in their plates so I’m wondering if there’s a type of bat that would help prevent that?

Hi all, I’m curious to know what kind of porcelain I should try out. B-mix is my go to and I hate anything with grog because it’s so hard to center and rough on my skin. So I thought I’d give porcelain a try but I’m not sure where to start. My studio offers porcelain 16 and frost if that helps narrow it down. I’m also open to trying things outside of what they sell. Thanks!
