[HH trilogy] So, why exactly was the dying Horus not put into stasis and brought to the Emperor for healing after his wounding on Davin’s moon?

The book False Gods even notes that he was lowered to Davin’s surface in a stasis pod for him not to die before the ritual begun.

Why exactly did nobody out of his legion’s elite take into account the possibility that there was, in fact, a quite basic way of probably saving Horus, other than putting him through a shady heretical ritual by non-imperials on a primitive world?

The Emperor was by far the most advanced gene-scientist in the Imperium at that point, and they knew he was on Terra. So why not just bringing Horus back there, if they already had no other more convincing option?

It’s not like Abaddon or Aximand were super convinced by Erebus’ ritual idea either. The book clearly makes the case that to them this ritual was a last resort - but was it really? Cheating death through stasis worked for Guilliman, at least.

Edit : u/animdalf noted in the comments that this question had already been asked a couple months back. Sorry, I had no idea! Here’s the previous thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/s/a6fSSW2X3j
