INGREDIENTS
FOR THE MAPLE SAUCE
2 cups (480ml) pure Amber Maple Syrup
1½ cup (300g | 10.6oz) light brown sugar
1-1/2 cup (360ml) heavy cream 35% Whipping Cream in Canada
1/4 cup (60g | 2.1oz) butter, softened
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt I use fine Sea Salt or Fleur de Sel
FOR THE CAKE
1/2 cup (120g | 4.2oz) butter, softened
3/4 cup (150g | 5.3oz) granulated white sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
3/4 cup (180ml) milk at room temperature. You can substitute buttermilk to make it richer.
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1-1/2 cup (190g | 6.8oz) unbleached all-purpose flour If you use Self-Raising Cake and Pastry Flour you do not need to add the baking powder or the salt. It comes with it.
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt I use fine Sea Salt or Fleur de Sel
