are heavy duty pallet racks overkill for my garage?

trying to figure out how to turn part of my garage into a little workroom for myself. i've been wanting to get into DIY for a while. the problem is i have no idea where to start with the storage. i'm a girl and a beginner just for context, so i'm really clueless with this kinda stuff lol. i need room for tools, materials, bins and all the random stuff i'll probably collect once i get more into building things. been looking at heavy duty pallet racks because they seem like a good way to use the vertical space without taking over the whole floor..

i'm still very much learning, so if anyone has done a workshop setup from scratch, any tips or tricks on storage, layout or things i should think about before buying anything? help a girl out pls lol

i've been using the same makeup brushes for two years without cleaning them and i am only now understanding the consequences

bought a set of brushes when i first got into makeup. used them constantly. never cleaned them. not once. told myself i'd do it eventually and then continued not doing it for approximately two years.

started noticing my skin breaking out in specific spots that aligned suspiciously well with where i apply foundation. looked it up. immediately wished i hadn't.

deep cleaned the whole set last week. the water running off them was a color i am not going to describe in detail. switched to cleaning them every two weeks now and my skin has noticeably calmed down in the three weeks since.

two years. i could have avoided a lot of frustration if i had just done this from the start.

is there a hygiene habit around a specific tool or product you kept using without maintaining it for way longer than you should have?
