Something is bothering me about the BD AI discourse

I can't help but feel that the backlash BD's show teaser generated is reflexive specifically because it's BD -- of course it hurts a bit when the corps that set the standard for artistic innocation for a decade uses AI, or maybe it's just an opportunity to sort of jump a corps you already don't like for whatever reason -- but it's a bit disorienting seeing a teaser trailer receive this level of criticism and generate this much dialogue when Colts had AI props in their 2025 show, Cavaliers had AI props in their 2024 show, and promotional materials using AI come out every single year from finalist and non-finalist corps alike. I think it is an immensely positive thing that the community has come together to denounce generative AI, but this level of criticism needs to be universal and not just reserved for corps that we might have a grudge against. Especially in instances where AI is actually used in aspects of show design.
