Late to the "party" - Nxtpaper 11 Plus
After months of research, I am strongly considering the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus. My tablet journey actually began with e-ink devices such as the Supernote and Viwoods because I wanted something geared more toward productivity and less cluttered with unnecessary distractions.
As I looked deeper, I started questioning the price of those devices. I found myself asking, if I am already spending that much, why not just buy an iPad Air? I have an iPhone XR and an Apple Watch Series 8, which should tell you that I tend to keep my tech until it is no longer usable. An iPad would offer strong support, and I could simplify it into a productivity machine while still using it for reading books, PDFs, and other content.
Then I discovered the NXTPAPER 11 Plus, and like many people, I was intrigued by the different screen modes that can adapt to whatever I am doing, especially reading. However, I imagine I would spend most of my time in the Soft Color mode while working.
I have done quite a bit of research, but I have yet to find anyone who has documented using the device primarily for productivity. I am interested in things like initial setup, removing unnecessary apps and distractions, recommended apps, workflows, and how the device performs after months of real-world use. Most of the videos I have found focus on how impressive the screen modes are, why it is better than the Gen 2, or how companies like TCL are threatening the iPad. There does not seem to be much from people who have actually lived with the device and turned it into a serious work machine.
So I am here to ask, is it viable for such a purpose or in your experiences, should I just call it a day and get the iPad Air?
Also, if I land on the NXTPAPER, has anyone come across a exceptional way to store it, be it a case (that is not the TCL version) or a protected case and sliding it into a sleeve of some sort? I was hoping that I would be able to find a case similiar to the ESR with the removable magnetic case (removing it from the folio) for handheld purposes.
I would appreciate honest, productive feedback and thank you in advance for it.
