After learning how thick the redwood bark could be I started nerding out on burn scars and the lack of damage that I saw on the interior of the bark. Also, the growth patterns were pretty cool to see too.

I picked up The Maze of History on a road trip through NorCal. I didn't expect to find a book about my tribe in a small town bookstore on the NorCal coast. I also picked up Sand Talk by Tyson Yunkaporta.

I'm excited to begin reading both of these soon.
