Someone planted an idea in me to try handstands…
Earlier this year I was dating somebody who introduced me to the idea that handstands would be a great challenge (she could already successfully carry them out).
Sadly we didn’t work out but the challenge remains.
For the record I’m 53, 5’11” and around 78 kilos.
I’m in good shape: I run 5k at least every day, kettlebell swing most days, dips every other day and do yoga twice a week and Pilates.
I’ve so many handstand video techniques saved I feel I have hit a choice block.
So I’ve decided to just try like push ups. I can currently do 4 x 15 on my toes (arms 90 degrees then push my nose forward to the ground).
Would you suggest I keep doing this for a while to build up strength?
I feel I’m way off an actual handstand although I tried flicking my feet up recently in a yoga class and it felt surprisingly light.
Worth progressing to feet on wall soon?
Appreciate there’s not a great deal of info here but it’s my physical challenge for this year so any help most welcome!
