Why don’t Tanzanian’s advertise prices clearly (Instagram/Market)

Why aren’t most Africans upfront about the prices on things lol it’s always a 50/50 chance you get a clear prices online or in the marketplace lol . It’s always “call for price” why? That’s not very efficient for marketing and may deter someone from buying your product. Also, it’s less efficient because not everyone wants to be on the phone or see someone in person. The way the world is going, people just want to click and have things delivered.

TZ has Peace / Does anyone else in TZ and doesn’t know Swahili?

The other day I was talking with a lady who spoke English and she got upset with me because I was asking for more clarification about a product. The lady told me that I went 20 years back to look for what I’m looking for and that I wasn’t going to find it. I was a bit stunned by what she said. Many people question me on why I came to this country to and visit often. They ask me why don’t I go back to America. But what they fail to understand is TZ has barrakah (peace and blessing). I love my country also but TZ has things that America would never have and that’s a low display of public violence and gun violence. Which is very rare. I’ve lived in the US and I’ll tell you there’s Violent crimes everywhere. A huge deterrent. Yes money is easy to make there but you are also taxed at an alarming rate. So if you are Tanzanian don’t sell yourself that American dream that your life is going to be so much different. In short what showed me the difference of culture here was that I saw a boy that fell off of a bike in Kariako and 5 other men helped him up immediately. In the US if you fall…. Pray.

Also is anyone else here and doesn’t know Swahili? How do people treat you? Because I’m really trying to learn Swahili and I appreciate the patience from the people that try to communicate with me but know that learning a language takes time. I feel like they change on you so quickly if you don’t know the language. The reason I’m asking this is because sometimes people here look at me like I’m stupid for struggling to speak Swahili but I’m trying? Isn’t Tz supposed to be a bilingual country Swahili and English is it not? I don’t know the statistics but from what I’ve seen here is about 35 - 40 percent bilingual with English. In my defense I’m learning Swahili yes but English is a very popular language. It’s world wide, im not saying that it’s a better language but it’s more popular. Many people here might know some English through college, social media, songs, tv, electronics. So you’ve been exposed to English for a long long time. But someone like myself, Kiswahili is a novelty to me. I just learned about the language not too long ago because it’s not prevalent in America. No Swahili music,no shows, nothing . It’s a great language and it has some Arabic structure but it’s new to me. Sometimes I feel judged for struggling with the language

Was I scammed?

So I’m here in TZ on a Multiple entry visa right and because I travel here a lot, I decided to use TZ as a vacation spot for me and my family. Long story short I bought a car from a pretty well known dealership here, instagram famous kind a thing. The car was about 10 million, I paid it in full and full insurance for the whole year 300k. It had no vin and no documents. I gave the guy everything, passport photos, 3 months of bank statements and proof of income and TIN number. Now It’s been about 3 weeks and still no card as promised. They said they would give a copy of the insurance and change over the ownership through TRA and nothing yet. As I said it’s been 3 weeks. Is this normal? The guys haven’t blocked me or anything but should I be concerned? Do I go to the police? How does this work? I’m starting to hate it here? Why can’t anyone be trusted?
