Rumour: Velupillay leaving Victory for Europe

On X, Commissioner General is reporting: "I can confirm that long time winger Nishan Velupillay has departed the club to pursue greener pastures in Europe. I wish the man all the best."

Not sure how true this rumour could be, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Could Jada Whyman come back to the A-Leagues?

Jada Whyman picked up another knee injury during training camp pre Asian Women's Cup 2026 and hasn't played since. In May (see article in link) she announced she was pausing her career and left her Swedish club AIK. Does anyone know if she is back in Australia? If she will be re-starting her career? Would be an amazing pick up for an ALW club if she can come back.

Mariners sold to QPR owner

The A-Leagues is about to announce the Mariners is being sold to one of the QPR part owners, a Malaysian billionaire. Subject to fit for ownership checks, they will take over the men's team, but not the women's team, before the start of season 26/27.

The women's team will remain owned by APL while they look for a separate buyer.
