pros and cons of wcu oc

hi!! i previously made a post abt if i should attend wcu or nightingale. and think what automatically made me decide is the battle nightingale is having w california and i just don’t wanna risk doing the schooling and then ending up unable to take the nclex in ca and get licensed.

therefore, ive heard mcgraw hill literally SUCKS but i have no option other than to pursue my bsn at wcu. i have to go w schools that are less competitive/not competitive at all so i wanted to ask if you guys could give me a pros and cons list on wcu oc campus.

i live in the bay area, will be moving to oc for wcu. i’ve needed a new scenery anyway & i’ll be taking out loans for wcu. help me out!

or what other bsn programs in ca do you recommend that isn’t competitive at all, a good school, and pretty much almost accepts everyone lol

west coast u or nightingale?

hey i’m doing a lot of research on what school i should attend for my BSN. (transfer creds done) i switch between nightingale and wcu(NOHO or OC) a lot and there’s so many pros and cons. nightingale is a pro to me because it’s kinda flexible? i heard all assignments are due same time of the week or smt and kinda self paced in that sense? my estimated tuition was 63k but the con is that like i don’t know if i can keep up w the self studying & i think it’s really important for me to have an in person grad where all my family and friends can attend. my tuition estimate was abt 40k for a year for wcu, and i was thinking that 80k-90k for two years at wcu might be the same as nightingale w 60k + travel costs and everything. ive heard both schools are self study i just need more povs from actual students from both schools! pls help me out.

i live in the bay area if that helps, id be moving to socal to wcu but staying in the bay if i can to nightingale.

edit: i no longer am considering nightingale just because i found out that there’s a pending thing with california and i just don’t want to risk doing the schooling if i wont be able to take the nclex in california. im iffy abt wcu now as well just because of the mcgraw hill thing.

jobs as a nursing student

i just passed my entrance exam for nightingale, so i’m assuming i’m already accepted! expected start date is sep 8, i wanted to work as much as possible before then, right now i work at a restaurant & am a companion. I did my CNA program last april 2025 and was wondering if it was even worth it to become a CNA and get certified. I just want to chase a bag and make a lot of money regardless of how much work it takes. what jobs do you guys recommend getting that don’t need certifications and pay well?

nightingale college BSN fall 2026

i’ve been looking around private bsn programs and landed on nightingale. i’ve heard a lot of good things and have already passed the interview process, just need to take the test. does anyone have anything theyd like to add? tuition? their own experience? some advice on how to study or even the traveling? thank you so much!
