Just sat for L1. Need L2 timing advice.

Just sat for L1 last week. Don’t want to jinx anything, but assuming I pass (I think I did well enough), I’m debating whether to go for L2 in November 2026 (~5.5 months of study if starting early june, before the results even come out) or wait until May 2027.

For those who’ve been through it: would November realistically be enough time to prepare well for L2, or would you really recommend to double down and take the extra time for May?

I know it depends for each person, so for reference, I studied almost 4 months for L1 and scored 74% and 81% on my CFAI mocks.

Part of me wants to keep the momentum going while the material and study routine are still fresh. I’m also not mentally exhausted from L1 (if I were completely burned out, I’d definitely wait until May). But I genuinely enjoyed studying for L1, so I’m considering taking advantage of that momentum.

The other half of me thinks that L2 is the hardest exam (as people often say) and that I should take my time, dont underestimate it, etc etc etc.

Would appreciate any advice, suggestions, counterpoints, personal experiences, etc.
